Zach was smiling at her, and she thought his eyes were glistening, just a little bit. I think he really gets it, she thought. She put her eye to the camera again and aimed at the loon. Before she could get a shot, though, it dived under the water. She didn't mind. She aimed her camera at Zach, focused in close, and took another set of shots. She had plenty of pictures of loons, she didn't need any more.

Humphrey Lyttleton: "I was always less of an orthinologist and more of a word botcher"

Very well done story. Loved the premise and the locale. Bev is a great character as is Lilly. They added some humor that helped the story along the path for the MC's to trod. The fact that I've been a Maine lover and a sorta-birder certainly helped me to enjoy the story. Truly a 5* effort. ( I'm such a visual character, I would have preferred to know your vision of what Emma and Zach looked like)

What can I say? I just love your love stories. Your characters are never stereotyped and are usually quirky and intriguing, I feel like I get to know as friends them through your beautifully crafted writing. I read your opening page to my 11 year old grandson, who is a great reader, a bird lover and a very creative writer, he just loved it. He just loved the way you described such a diverse range of birds, most of whom are new to him, we are Aussie bird watchers, we know our Australian birds habits intimately, as do you with the birds of Maine! Thank you
